Hello

My name is Amanda Herrera

I am a DONA-certified doula dedicated to supporting families at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and the surrounding areas through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. As a mother of four, I understand the unique joys and challenges that come with this journey, and I am committed to providing compassionate, non-judgmental care tailored to your individual needs. My TRICARE-approved services ensure that military families have access to the support they deserve. When I'm not Doula-ing, I enjoy homeschooling my children, staying active, and serving at church. I look forward to connecting with you and offering the support your family needs during this incredible time.

My Story

My path to becoming a doula began long before I ever stepped into a training program. It started with my own births—two experiences that were far more traumatic than they should have been. I walked into motherhood excited and hopeful, yet I found myself navigating fear, pressure, and postpartum depression. I didn’t feel fully supported, fully informed, or fully heard.

As I healed and began to reflect, I kept asking myself one question: Why wasn’t I prepared for this?
That question sparked a deep desire to learn. I dove into research on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—what the body is designed to do, how labor progresses naturally, and how a supportive environment can completely transform the birth experience. That’s when I discovered the role of a doula, and it felt like everything clicked into place.

I realized that what I experienced didn’t have to be the norm. Women shouldn’t have to walk into birth afraid, pressured, or told their bodies are broken. They shouldn’t feel like interventions are their only option or that their voices don’t matter. We were created with purpose, intention, and strength—and birth is part of that beautiful design.

With that conviction, I became certified and stepped into this calling with a clear mission:
to support families in a faith-based, empowering, deeply informed way so they never have to walk through what I did.

Today, I walk beside women and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with compassion, education, and a heart grounded in God’s design for birth. I help parents understand their options, advocate for their preferences, and trust the incredible way their bodies were made.

My role isn’t to make decisions for families—it’s to ensure they feel heard, respected, and confident. Whether it’s through preparing for labor, offering emotional support, or helping navigate fears rooted in common myths about birth, I am here to guide them toward the experience they truly want.

My own story of struggle became the foundation for a new purpose:
to serve, support, and uplift families so their birth stories are filled with peace, strength, and faith—not fear.
